Idris Family

Donate to help a refugee family:

The Idris family are refugees from the Congo and beloved members of St. Luke, but their needs extend beyond what our small community can provide. Maria is a widowed mother attempting to support seven children on her wages from an unskilled job. Please prayerfully consider making a donation in support of meeting their immediate and long-term needs. “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” (James 1:27)

St. Luke Orthodox Church

Donate in support of St. Luke:

Our small parish is the only Orthodox Christian congregation in our city of over 100,000 people. We introduce many college students, Air Force personnel, and area residents to the fullness of the Christian faith. With approximately 40 members and a priest who works full-time outside the parish, St. Luke has a remarkably active liturgical life and a strong sense of community. Meeting even our meagre budget is a struggle, however. Extra expenses arose recently with the renovation of the parish hall after a fire. Several members have moved away from Abilene in the last year, and the parish generously provides benevolence to our refugee family. Please prayerfully consider making a donation in support of the ministries of St. Luke.
